The Port of Portland is the port district responsible for overseeing Portland International Airport, general aviation, and marine activities in the Portland area. With the return of Delta’s nonstop flight from PDX to London, both the Port and the airline wanted to make a big splash.

We brought a real-life London icon — a Queen’s Guard — to downtown Portland. The goal? Get the notoriously stoic and unflappable Queen’s Guard to laugh. The prize? Tickets on the new nonstop flight. We took to social media to get the word out, running awareness-driving social ads encouraging Portlanders to join us in Director Park on event day for a chance to win prizes.
Content captured from the live event was then used to create an engaging recap video. This video was promoted through social ads, driving deeper engagement and furthering messaging around the flight’s return.
The number of email signups — 18k — was the most the airport had ever received for a contest, and the videos we created generated 1.2 million impressions, driving 53k website clicks.
